Oh, honey, let me tell you about this Wizard101 thing my grandkids are always going on about. They’re always talking about the lore of the runes. Sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me, but they seem to like it. This old lady don’t understand all these games, but I’ll try my best to explain what they’re always yapping about.
They say it’s important to get these books. Books, books, books! In my day, we only read the Good Book. Now, there are books everywhere in this game. One is near some fella named Grettir, I think. You gotta turn left before some ramp, whatever that is. That’s what they say. Then you can, like, zap yourself out. This lore of the runes is sure somethin’. Kids these days with their magic zapping.

And another book! This one, they say, is behind Shellek. Shellek, Grettir, who are these people? Sounds like a bunch of made-up names to me. They tell me you gotta beat up this Ragnor Stormbrow fella. Then talk to Njall Sharpeyes. Njall Sharpeyes, what in tarnation kind of name is that? My grandson says this all helps with getting the lore of the runes in Wizard101. Lordy, it’s all so confusing.
Then there’s this building you gotta go in. Inside, there’s this Ivar Andersson character. And, wouldn’t you know it, another book! Back of the room, they say. They sure do like to hide these things, don’t they? Makes no sense to me. Back in my day, if you wanted a book, you went to the library. You didn’t go hunting for it behind some Ivar fella. This whole Wizard101 lore of the runes thing is just too much for this old gal.
Now, this part is real strange. They say there’s a Rune Chamber. Sounds spooky, don’t it? They go in there for some Magic Flute quest. And there’s a Runestone. For another quest, somethin’ called Lore from a Stone. It’s near Agnetta Broadblade. They got more names than a phone book in this game. All these names are so hard to remember. The lore of the runes is sure complicated in this Wizard101 thing.
My grandkids tell me these lore spells, whatever those are, are with these gold key bosses. Bosses? Like they’re running a business or somethin’. Gold keys? Sounds fancy. Too fancy for me. I’ll stick to my house keys. These Wizard101 things make no sense. I don’t know how to help with this lore of the runes.
- There are seven books, they tell me. Seven!
- But you can’t get ’em all at first.
- You gotta save Grizzleheim. Sounds like a made-up place to me.
- Then, when you’re level 40, whatever that means, you go on another round of quests.
They keep talkin’ about Ravenscar and Grendels. More made-up stuff. The book is in the Coven’s Fortress, they say. Like I said, these books are always in with the boss. Boss this, boss that. It’s all about bosses in this game. This Wizard101 sure has a lot of bosses for this lore of the runes thing.

And another one! This one’s in Winterdeep. Sounds cold. It’s way back in a maze. But, get this, you don’t have to fight nobody to get to it. Well, that’s somethin’, I reckon. At least there’s one easy book in this whole mess. Maybe this lore of the runes ain’t so bad. But it’s still all Wizard101 nonsense to me.
I swear, these kids and their games. It’s all so complicated. Back in my day, we played outside. We didn’t have all these fancy Wizard101 games and lore of the runes. We used our imaginations. We didn’t need no computer to tell us what to do.
Well, there you have it. That’s all I know about this Wizard101 lore of the runes business. It’s all a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me. But the grandkids seem to like it. So, I guess that’s all that matters. As long as they’re happy, that’s good enough for this old lady. Just wish they’d explain it a little better. It’s all so confusing! I hope they know what they are doing with all these Wizard101 things and the lore of the runes. They should be careful, I always tell them.
